Founded in 1974, Metro Fair Housing Services, Inc. (Metro)
is a private, not-for-profit, fair housing organization
whose primary purpose is to prevent housing discrimination
in the metropolitan Atlanta area and throughout the state
of Georgia.
What is Fair Housing?
The federal Fair Housing Act was approved in 1968.
This Act prohibits housing discrimination based on membership
in the following protected classes:
Race
Color
National Origin
Religion
Sex (Gender)
Familial Status (the presence of children under the age
of 18)
Disability
Our counseling services are completely
free of charge.
Metro Fair Housing Services, Inc. is funded in
part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD), City of Atlanta, DeKalb County,
Fulton County, and Clayton County.
